SNELLVILLE, GA --(Marketwired - March 03, 2016) - Both doctors at Parkway Dental, a premier general dental practice, were recently profiled in a national lifestyle magazine for dental professionals.
Dr. Amit Patel and Dr. Ashish Vakharia, who operate Parkway Dental, recently made Benco Dental's list of 40 Under 40. The profiles, published in Incisal Edge magazine, highlighted 40 dentists across the country who have shown excellence and innovation in the field of dentistry.
"It's an honor to be listed with such exemplary dentists who are working to build their dental practices and helping their community," Dr. Vakharia said.
For the profile, the Snellville dentists attended a special weekend video shoot and party in New York City. Incisal Edge is a quarterly publication that has carried the 40 Under 40 feature for the past five years. The 40 Under 40 list highlights not only young and talented clinicians, but also those who are using technology to provide patients comfortable and precise dental care.
Drs. Patel and Vakharia both pride themselves on implementing the latest technology in their dental practice. Both doctors have a passion for easing patients' dental anxiety and using tools like dental lasers to reduce sensitivity.
"For us, using technology in dentistry means finding new and better ways to treat dental issues, but it's much more about making sure the patient is comfortable and not in pain," Dr. Vakharia said. "Our goal is to gain the trust of our patients so we can help them achieve the smile of their dreams."
Parkway Dental, 1850-B Scenic Hwy. N., is a stand-alone dental office that treats patients of all ages with preventive dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, root canals, extractions and dental implants. Parkway Dental has been a Snellville institution for the past 30 years.
The practice stays on the cutting edge of dentistry and offers a multitude of services patients will not find at typical dental practices. The practice can place dental implants for patients with missing teeth or for those who need to stabilize dentures. Dental implants, which are made from titanium, preserve the jawbone and mimic the biting power of natural teeth. The practice also uses the revolutionary treatment Invisalign to straighten teeth without the hassle of metal brackets or wires.
Dr. Ashish Vakharia, a Pittsburgh native, graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with undergraduate degrees in biology and chemistry. He then earned his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry. He used his time in Puerto Rico to advance his dental skills and work with Spanish-speaking patients. Dr. Vakharia is passionate about treating those who are less fortunate, and he has contributed more than 400 hours in volunteer dental services.
Dr. Patel earned his dental degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and boasts more than 800 hours of continuing education. He decided to become a dentist at the age of 18 after being influenced by his family's dentist.
